At Ride Revival, we believe every classic car tells a story—and we want to hear yours. Whether it’s a 1965 Mustang or a vintage VW Beetle, your vehicle has a rich history that can inspire others. Many of our donors are passionate enthusiasts who have cherished their cars for years. By donating, they’re not just giving away a vehicle; they're sharing a piece of their passion with future generations.
In Oakland, the classic car community thrives, filled with people who appreciate the artistry and craftsmanship of vehicles produced before 1990. Many of these cars have served their owners faithfully, becoming an integral part of their lives. Donating your classic car helps us facilitate restoration projects and community events, ensuring that the love for these timeless vehicles continues for years to come.

How pickup works
Pickup of classic cars is handled with utmost care to ensure they arrive in pristine condition. We strongly prefer using an enclosed transport trailer for higher-value donations. A team member will coordinate the pickup logistics, which may include flatbed transport or drive-away options depending on the vehicle's condition. We can also arrange secure storage lot coordination for cars that need to be picked up from a storage facility. Rest assured, we will handle every detail to preserve your classic car until it reaches our hands.
What drives donation value
Several factors can elevate the appraisal value of your classic car donation. Cars with documented service history, matching-numbers authenticity, and original drivetrains are particularly sought after by collectors. Vehicles that have undergone NCRS judging for Corvettes or include Marti Reports for Fords can also see a premium in value. The overall condition, including any 'barn find' patina, and whether the car is period-correct or a restomod, will influence its appraisal territory. Expect to see your car valued at $5,000 or more, and remember that IRS Form 8283 Section B with a qualified appraisal is mandatory for tax deductions.
Documentation you need
- Current title of the vehicle
- Service records documenting maintenance history
- Qualified appraisal for IRS purposes
- Marti Report for Fords or NCRS judging for Corvettes
- VIN verification documentation
Oakland specifics
In California, classic car donations are subject to specific DMV regulations, which can affect title transfers and bill-of-sale procedures. Donors should ensure that their vehicle is titled correctly to avoid complications during the donation process. While California does recognize bill-of-sale transfers for certain vehicles, having a clear title ensures a smoother transition. Ride Revival is well-versed in local laws, and we’ll help facilitate the process so your donation is seamless and compliant.
